  1. TV Agent requires:
  2.  >  an EGA/VGA monitor   (color much preferred)
  3.  >  about 500K of free memory
  4.  >  about 2 megabytes of disk space for this demo (about 6 megabytes when
  5.       you have decompressed all the listings for the next 8 days)
  6.  >  PKUNZIP.EXE v2.04g on your PATH or in the directory with TVAGENT.EXE
  7.  >  FILES=50  or more in your CONFIG.SYS
  8.  >  a FAT hard drive (like DOS uses -- not an HPFS drive like OS/2 )
  9.      (This demo will work on HPFS, but the hidden authorization used with
  10.       the subscription version won't work on HPFS )

  13. You've PKUNZIPped TVADEMO.ZIP into its own directory. Start it with
  14.  
  15. C:\TV> TVAGENT
  16.  
  17. The first time you use TV Agent, it will have to decompress the
  18. listings. Then you will set up a user name and set your time zone.
  19.  
  20. After the first session you can skip the opening menus and go straight
  21. to the current listings if you include an existing user name in the
  22. command line, like:

  24. C:\TV> TVAGENT JOE
  25.  
  26. The help system is the documentation. Hitting "HELP" buttons will show
  27. you pieces of it in context. All the help text is included in the
  28. ASCII file ALLHELP.TV2 .

  30. TV listings for 12/1/95 and 12/2/95 are included in this demo as the files
  31. TVLIST01.ARC and TVLIST02.ARC . Instead of using those outdated December
  32. '95 listings you can use the demo with CURRENT listings if you download
  33. listings near the first of any month. When you subscribe to TV Agent you
  34. must routinely download listings at least once a week. See the file
  35. WHERE.LST for suggested sites. You can use listings files (TVLIST01.ARC
  36. thru TVLIST08.ARC) with this demo; just copy them into the directory and
  37. start TVAGENT.EXE. You need to subscribe to view listings for the 9th or
  38. later days in the month. The demo will pretend the date is the 1st if the
  39. date is really the 9th or later. It does not change your computer's clock.

  41. All the setup work you do with the demo can be saved and used with the
  42. subscription version by copying the U*.* and SYSCON.TVA files from the
  43. demo directory into the directory where you install the subscription
  44. version.
